Nikola Bajcetić, a member of the TRACE Project team and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, recently delivered an engaging lecture at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGE) in Belgrade. Invited by Prof. Aleksandra Nikolić, a full research professor at IMGGE, Nikola shared insights about the TRACE project with high school students enrolled in the Biology and Chemistry program.
The lecture was attended by 20 enthusiastic students, who actively engaged in the session by asking questions about the project and its focus areas.
Key topics covered during the lecture included:
Antibiotic Resistance: Understanding the concept and its implications.
History of Antibiotics: Tracing the discovery of the first antibiotic.
Multidrug-Resistant (MDR) Bacteria: Exploring critical challenges posed by MDR bacteria.
Priority Pathogens: Discussing significant multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens across critical, high, and medium priority groups.
TRACE Project: Highlighting its concept, methodology, and ambitions.
We extend our sincere thanks to Prof. Aleksandra Nikolić for the invitation and the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists. We look forward to future collaborations aimed at fostering scientific curiosity and knowledge-sharing.
This project is proudly supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia (Grant No. 7042).
